It can be overwhelming to know where to start when you are looking for help and support but I will try to make the process as easy as possible so that you feel accepted, heard, understood and supported with whatever is causing you difficulty at this time.
The decision to seek help is not a sign of weakness but a strength, by acknowledging that you have reached the point of needing additional support.
Finding the right counsellor is really important as you need to feel comfortable enough to share your vulnerability and know that you will be accepted and not judged.
The first step is always the most difficult but I can support you as you embark on your journey to strive for change.

Counselling is a "Talking Therapy" which basically means it offers you an opportunity to talk about whatever is causing you difficulties in your life.
Most people find it beneficial to be able to talk to someone who is not connected to the situation or issue.
Whilst friends and family may offer support, they often have their own agenda or point of view. It can be really helpful to talk to someone independent who is experienced and qualified and who can focus on your individual experience.
The best way to find out if counselling can help you is to book a session and try it!
We can talk about any concerns you have and try to find a way of working that you feel comfortable with.
If it is not suitable for you, there is no obligation to book any further sessions.
If I am not the right counsellor for you, we can explore where you might find alternative help and support.
I am a person-centred counsellor which means that the work is client led. I offer counselling to meet your individual needs. You decide how you want to use sessions, what you would like to discuss in each session and how many sessions you would like. I work with you to understand your unique experiences and help you process and make sense of your responses. I do not tell you what to do but encourage you to gain autonomy, recognise choice and identify possible changes you may feel able to make.
When working with couples, I acknowledge each of your individual experiences as well as helping you develop awareness of each other's experiences. Communication can be difficult in relationships. I do not judge or take sides but offer a safe environment to enable you each to speak and be heard and explore where misunderstandings, defensiveness or patterns of behaviour can negatively impact on communication.
I offer appointments
Appointments can be at flexible times to meet your needs. I can accommodate shift patterns and school term times if required.
