Finding the right Supervisor is as important as finding the right Counsellor in order for you to feel respected and supported to enable you to practise legally, ethically and safety with your clients.
I encourage you to decide how you want to use your time in supervision as well as how I can best support you.
Clinical supervision requires openness and mutual respect. I endeavour to offer you the right balance of support and challenge for your developmental needs.
During Supervision we will work together to reflect in depth on any issues affecting your practice. We will work within a framework and focus proposed by you for each session and to work to your agenda with what you choose to bring to the session.
We will monitor your self-care and fitness to practise to help you sustain the personal resourcefulness required to undertake counselling work. I will support and encourage your ongoing training and development needs. We will adhere to the BACP (2018) Ethical Framework for Counselling Professionals and your professional body's Ethical Framework and embrace equality and diversity.
For Trainee Counsellors, I will nurture your transition to working in Professional Practice to help you gain confidence, develop your own ways of working and link theory to practice. I will discuss your requirements for your supervision reports and help you to achieve the required criteria.
